England international Jill Scott says if the European Championships are moved to 2022 it will be good for women's football. 

The tournament, scheduled to begin next summer on July 7 in England, could potentially be postponed a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

If it was pushed back to the summer of 2022 it would avoid the clash of two major tournaments in their four-year cycle, as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are now starting on July 23 next year. 

The 33-year-old midfielder told BBC Sport: "I know it hasn't been confirmed fully but if that is the case, then I think we just have to try and turn everything into a positive where we can.

"If you look at it that way, we have got an Olympics, a home Euros and then a World Cup so what a three-year cycle that will be for women's football.

"I think it will be good for the game - whether it's next year or a year after."

And the Manchester City star seems to be 'enjoying' self-isolation as the country is on lockdown. 

She added: "I've kind of enjoyed it - it's been a little different. You realise how busy you are on a day-to-day basis so it's been nice in a roundabout way to just stop."
