Abbi Grant scores first international goal as Scotland make it two from two with Pinatar Cup victory over Iceland

Scotland continued their winning ways in the Pinatar Cup with a 1-0 victory over Iceland in Spain thanks to a second half goal from Abbi Grant.

Despite dominating the first half, Shelley Kerr's side had to wait until after the break to get their noses in front but Grant secured her first international goal as she broke through in the 55th minute and finished with a clinical high shot.

Coming off the back of a 3-0 win over Ukraine, the scoreline seemed somewhat modest, but the Scottish side can come away from the game feeling confident as they prepare to take on Northern Ireland on Tuesday.

Goalscorer Abbi Grant was overjoyed with her performance, saying: "It was my first start for Scotland so to get a goal was the icing on the cake. I feel like the first chance I had was probably the easiest but I was happy to hit the net in the end.

"For my goal, I just saw the chance open up for me and thought I would just have a go. To score for Scotland was a special feeling."

The Pinatar Cup acts as a warm-up for Scotland who return to competitive action next month in a Euro 2021 qualifier, having already secured Group E victories over Cyprus and Albania.
