Fran Alonso's time at Celtic started perfectly in the Scottish Women's Premier League as his side beat defending champions Glasgow City.

Celtic not only claimed a 2-1 victory but they did so in dramatic fashion as captain Kelly Clark scored a last-minute winner.

City had been 1-0 up after Clare Shine tapped the ball in after 47 minutes.

Celtic then hit back through Sarah Ewens in the 51st to bring the scores level.

There was three minutes of injury time, enough for Clark to smash home the winner leaving the 13-time SWPL champions stunned.

Alonso tweeted after the game: "Absolutely delighted that we could give our amazing fans, who came despite the weather conditions, something to cheer about!

"Very proud of the Ghirls who didn’t settle for the point and showed the ambition to go for the win against the champions."
