Arsenal striker Vivianne Miedema humbly said she was more pleased with her four assists than her six goals against Bristol City in the Women's Super League at the weekend.

The Dutch forward put in a remarkable attacking display in The Gunners' 11-1 victory at Meadow Park as she scored or set-up all of the first 10 goals.

But Miedema, who has now netted 22 times in all competitions so far this season, has played down her performance.

She told the Arsenal website: “I don’t really think I’ve played like that before. 

"I felt really good today and I was probably happier with my assists today. I felt really good and I’m happy that I could help the team.”

At the age of just 23 Miedema has bagged 196 club goals in just 213 games and is also The Netherlands' all-time top scorer.

Despite this incredible record, she was left out of this year's Fifpro World Xl, something she believes is a result of her lack of social media presence.

“I think we all know it’s all about popularity and I don’t post much on Instagram or Twitter, so that’s probably what went wrong," she told Arseblog. "I don’t really care about individual awards to be honest, but I think it’s a joke.”

She may have well over a goal per game ratio in this campaign, but Miedema insists she is still not 100% firing on all cylinders.

“I do feel a little closer [to full fitness]. But also I’m looking forward to the Christmas holidays.”

Arsenal's final two WSL games of 2019 are both away from home against Reading and Everton.
