Arsenal's match against Lewes in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Meadow Park has been postponed due to Storm Dennis.

It comes after Chelsea's clash with Liverpool was also called off earlier in the week due to fears over strong winds.

The Gunners are the reigning Women's Super League champions and have won the FA Cup a record 14 times.

Lewes play in the second tier in the Women's Championship and are looking to reach the sixth round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history.

Speaking on Twitter after the announcement, Lewes' general manager Maggie Murphy said: "Really sad to say that Dennis has thwarted our attempts to deliver on the magic of the FA Cup."

After the postponement of Chelsea's game at Kingsmeadow, Arsenal-Lewes was scheduled to be shown on the BBC Red Button.

The game will now be re-arranged for a later date, but that has not yet been announced.

Leicester's tie with WSL side Reading and Brighton's trip to Crystal Palace have also been postponed due to the dangerous winds, meaning just two FA Cup ties are scheduled to be played today.
