Australia and China draw after late drama as both sides advance to Olympic play-off
Australia and China moved into the play-off round of Olympic qualification after a 1-1 draw in Sydney.
China took a surprise lead when Jiali Tang scored in the 86th minute, but the Matildas equalised in stoppage time thanks to a screamer from Emily van Egmond.
The result means Australia finish top of Group B and will play Group A runners-up Vietnam in their two-leg play-off.
Meanwhile, runners-up China will face Group A winners South Korea for a place at the Tokyo Games.
The games are scheduled to be played in March.
