Australia qualify for Olympic Games after demolishing Vietnam 7-1 on aggregate

Australia booked their place at the Tokyo Olympics this summer after beating Vietnam 7-1 in their two legged play-off.

The Matildas won their first match 5-0 and made sure of their spot in Japan with a 2-1 victory in the reverse fixture.

Captain Sam Kerr opened the scoring in the 15th minute to all but ensure Australia's qualification to the Tokyo Games in July.

Hayley Raso, who returned from a nose injury, added a second for the Matildas shortly after to put them in cruise control.

Vietnam hit back in the 55th minute with a goal from Huynh Nhu but it was merely a consolation strike as Kerr and co breezed through to the finals.
