Bristol City's Faye Bryson says team are 'raring to play' ahead of crunch Women's Super League clash against Manchester City

Bristol City's Faye Bryson has said the team are 'raring to play' Manchester City in the Women's Super League this evening.

Tonight's fixture will be the Robins' first match in two weeks after their games against Tottenham Hotspur and Reading were postponed.

Bryson's side are in need of a win as they are at the bottom of the WSL table with six points.

They have the same number of points as Liverpool, but the Reds are above of City on goal difference.

Speaking about the upcoming match, Bryson said: “Playing any of the top half of the table is interesting, but we’re raring to get a win, that’s what we’re pushing for. We’ve had two weeks off and just training now so we're raring to play a game, but we’ve just been a little unlucky with the games being called off.

“There’s always a good feeling about playing under the lights, you tend to get more fans at the midweek games so it will be good and it’s a great pitch to play on."

Bryson signed for City from Everton in January, but revealed she did not find it hard to settle into the club.

“I’ve loved it here so far; I feel like I settled in the first few days," she added. "The girls and all the staff are all very welcoming, so it’s just been a great environment to settle into. I didn’t find it hard at all, I’m enjoying it.

“When you look at the league table some people may expect the environment not to be great but it’s nothing but amazing at the minute, no-one is getting onto anyone’s back, everyone’s really getting on, the team environment is really together."

Manchester City vs Bristol City kicks off tonight at 7pm and can be streamed live via the FA Player app.

A full round-up of all the weekend's results will be brought to you on the NewsChain website as soon as the final match has concluded.
