Celtic, Aberdeen and Hamilton pick up wins in SWPL Cup

Celtic kicked off their pursuit of a first Scottish Women's Premier League Cup in a decade with victory over St Johnstone.

Fran Alonso's side blew away their Group A opponents with a phenomenal 6-0 win.

In the same group, Glasgow City, who have won the Scottish league 13 times in a row, were stunned as they lost 3-2 to Spartans.

In Group B, Hamilton Academical dominated Queen's Park in a 6-1 victory, while Rangers' trip to Dundee United was postponed due to weather conditions.

Newly promoted SWPL side Aberdeen narrowly beat Hearts 2-1 in Group C as Boroughmuir Thistle lost 4-2 to Stirling University.

Both of Group D's matches were postponed due to Storm Dennis, so Kilmarnock's match with Motherwell and Patrick Thistle's game against Forfar Farmington will be rescheduled.
