Scottish Women's Premier League club Celtic have announced the signing of Spanish international Anita Marcos on loan from Atletico Madrid.

The 19-year-old striker, known as Anita, has won two league titles with Atletico and the U19 European championship with her national side. 

Of her signing she said: "I’m very happy because, for me, it’s a very good opportunity. I took this decision to come to Celtic because I want to grow and I want to win things with this club.

"I watch a lot of football so I know Celtic is a very big club. I’ve watched the games and I can see the passion, which is awesome.

"I just want to meet my new team-mates, start playing football, score goals and start a new season with Celtic."

She could make her debut in Friday's SWPL opener against Glasgow City.
