Chelsea beat Arsenal with an injury-time winner to lift the League Cup for the first time.

Sam Kerr had an early chance for the Blues but Arsenal keeper Manuela Zinsberger was equal to it.

Chelsea made the breakthrough as Maren Mjelde controlled a difficult cross and headed it into the path of Beth England who did what she does best and smashed it home to put the Blues ahead.

Arsenal were keen to respond quickly and Chelsea's keeper Ann-Katrin Berger did well to keep the Gunners at bay, blocking Williamson who looked certain to score.

Arsenal's Vivianne Miedema looked dangerous as she stormed towards goal but Chelsea's Millie Bright intercepted to keep it 1-0 at the break.

Arsenal pressed for the equaliser at the start of the second-half but Chelsea's defence, particularly through Bright and Berger, held firm.

Burger put her body on the line once again when Miedema was through and injured herself keeping the Dutch star at bay but conceded a corner.

Katie McCabe delivered the cross which fell to Williamson feet, who slotted home with six minutes left on the clock.

Arsenal were finishing strongly and threatened again from a corner with Louise Quinn inches away from scoring the winner.

However there was one last throw of the dice and it was Chelsea's Beth England who slotted home in the 92nd minute, although replays suggested she may just have been offside.

The Blues held on for a 2-1 win and the London club have now won every piece of silverware available to them and continue their unbeaten run.

Berger said post-match: "It feels unbelievable, everyone put in a great shift, the team performance was incredible. We're now hungry for more."
