Chelsea re-sign Scotland international Erin Cuthbert in three-year deal

Chelsea have re-signed Scotland international Erin Cuthbert in a three-year deal.

Cuthbert signed for the Blues in 2016 from Glasgow City and has made just shy of 100 appearances for the club.

She said: “It means so much to me, I’ve been here three-and-a-half years now and this club feels like home to me. I can’t imagine myself anywhere else and I’m just happy to get the deal over the line.”

Chelsea’s general manager Paul Green believes Cuthbert has improved every year she’s been at the club.

“We think Erin is one of the best young players in the world and we’re delighted that she’s extended her contract,” he said.

“Erin’s been developing very well since she’s been at the club, improving each year and we’re lucky to have her. We look forward to working with her for many years to come and seeing how her career continues to flourish.”

She has now won the WSL title twice, the FA Cup and the Continental Cup with Chelsea.

And she is now targeting a Champions League victory.

"The Champions League is the crème de la crème of club football, we want to get there. We narrowly missed out two years ago and we want more this year.

“We want to go a step further and we’ve got more than enough fire power in this squad.”

The WSL is due to start the new season on September 5.
