Chelsea's Sophie Ingle has eyes firmly set on FA Cup Final at Wembley ahead of re-scheduled fifth round tie against Liverpool

Chelsea midfielder Sophie Ingle has said her side are determined to reach the FA Cup Final ahead of their fifth round tie against Liverpool.

The match, which was originally scheduled for Sunday lunchtime, was postponed until today due to Storm Dennis.

The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw with Vicky Jepson's Liverpool back in December and Ingle is aware her side must learn from their wastefulness in that game.

She said: "In the last game we did have a few chances but we just couldn’t put it in the back of the net.

"To be fair to them [Liverpool] they did defend well so it’s about us being clinical in front of goal like we have done the last few games.

Chelsea are unbeaten so far this season in the Women's Super League and are currently in an incredibly close battle for the title with Manchester City and Arsenal.

But while the league will undoubtedly remain the priority for Emma Hayes and her players, Ingle also stressed how much the squad want to reach the FA Cup Final in order to play at Wembley Stadium.

"I think the lower teams have got nothing to lose, they are just trying to get points on the board and they are going all guns blazing," she added.

"They are going to be a strong side to play against and we know they are a good team especially going forward.

"They’ve got a lot of pace and good link-up play so we need to nullify that. But we are on a good run at the moment and we are really up for the cup game.

"It would be amazing to play at Wembley, everyone wants to get to the FA Cup final, so hopefully we can get the result on Monday to take us that one step closer."

Chelsea v Liverpool kicks off at 7pm and a full round-up will be brought to you right here on the NewsChain website.
