China's Olympic qualifier with South Korea is latest sporting fixture postponed due to coronavirus fears

China's Olympic football qualifier against South Korea is the latest sporting event to be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The match was scheduled to take place on March 6 in the South Korean city of Yongin, but has now been pushed back to April.

A total of 80,000 people in more than 40 countries have now been infected with the illness, with 2,700 reported deaths, most of which are in China.

And the Asian Football Confederation has released a statement regarding the status of the Olympic qualifier.

They said: "The confederation will commence a meeting next week to discuss the layout of all COVID-19-affected football matches in Asia."

The winner of the game will secure a place at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics later this year.
