England and Lyon football star Nikita Parris believes her achievements in the French league have gone unnoticed

England and Lyon footballer Nikita Parris believes her achievements in France have gone unnoticed.

The 25 year-old moved from Women's Super League side Manchester City to Lyon last year.

And since then she has gone on to score 17 goals in 23 games in France's top-flight football league. But she believes she has not got the recognition she deserves.

She told inews: "I feel like when you're playing outside of the English league, nothing really gets said about you. When you’re doing well and performing for your team, regardless of where your team is based, I feel like you should be spoken about.

"Even Lucy Bronze only ever gets mentioned when she’s winning an award, the story about what she achieved to get there isn’t being told."

Other England stars including including Rachel Daly, Alex Greenwood and Toni Duggan are also abroad.
