England boss Phil Neville to remain in charge as pressure builds following disappointing SheBelieves Cup campaign

England Women's football manager Phil Neville will remain in charge of the national side despite slipping to a disappointing third at the SheBelieves Cup.

Reports emerged this morning that Neville would be sacked after England's recent poor form which has seen them lose seven of their last 11 matches.

But the FA told The Telegraph today that he will stay at the helm of the Lionesses for 'the foreseeable future'.

After England lost their final SheBelieves Cup match to Spain, Lioness Nikita Parris insisted fans should be blaming the players rather than Neville.

She said: "Too many of us are living off the hype of the World Cup. We haven’t improved and we have to take responsibility. Phil has protected us for far too long and ultimately we have got to step up."
