Everton have confirmed defender Gabby George ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament during her side's thumping 5-0 victory at Bristol City last week.

George suffered the injury in the first minute of the clash at Ashton Gate and will now begin rehabilitation at USM Finch Farm.

Meanwhile, new signing Hayley Raso suffered a broken nose while on international duty with Australia and has undergone successful surgery.

She will be rejoining the Toffees following next month’s international break when Everton host Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday March 15.
