Former England and Chelsea star Eniola Aluko to leave Juventus in December at an "exciting" time in the women's game here

Ex-England Women's international, Eniola Aluko has announced she will leave Series A champions Juventus in December.

The striker, 32, who made 102 senior England appearances announced the news on the club website saying: "I feel very fortunate to have achieved such success with all of you. I have come to the difficult decision to leave Juventus."

A former Chelsea and Birmingham City forward, Aluko was also a member of Great Britain's squad for the London 2012 Olympics.

Her time at Juventus has seen recent success at the Italian Supercoppa and the Coppa Italia earlier this year. She also helped her side retain the league title last season.

"My heart is full to know that I have added three trophies at a special club with special memories. I thank you all for this," she said.

Her swan song for the Turin-based club will be at home against title rivals Fiorentina on November 30 before she returns to London for what she calls "a time when there are a lot of exciting opportunities" in the women's game.

Aluko was involved in a discrimination case against former England boss Mark Sampson in 2017. The Football Association later apologised to her for racially discriminatory remarks made by the Welshman three years earlier.

She has not made played for her country since 2016.
