Fran Alonso's Celtic keep their winning run going as Rangers also claim victory in SWPL Cup

Celtic continued their winning run this season with a 4-1 victory over Spartans in the Scottish Women's Premier League Cup.

The two sides were in deadlock until the 40th minute when Celtic's Summer Green opened the scoring.

Sarah Ewens doubled Fran Alonso's side's lead in the 73rd minute with Katheen McGovern adding another just a few minutes later.

Spartans' Becky Galbraith scored a consolation goal in the 81st but Celtic's Josephine Giard finished the afternoon by slotting home the fourth to wrap up the points.

Elsewhere, Rangers secured a 3-0 win over Hamilton Academical.  

Lisa Martinez scored two with new signing Megan Bell adding another to claim a convincing win.

Dundee United beat Queens Park 5-2 despite the visitors going ahead through Jayne Cameron.

But United came out firing in the second-half, with Tammy Harkin scoring a hat-trick and Ellie Reid and Danni McGinley also on the score-sheet.

Lauren Coleman added a late second for Park.

The Jeanfield Swifts beat Glasgow Girls 3-1, Forfar Farmington ran out 2-1 winners against Motherwell and Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock drew 2-2.

Finally, Hearts beat Stirling University 2-0 and Boroughmuir Thistle drew 0-0 with Aberdeen.
