England manager Phil Neville has said Beth Mead's injury is a 'blow' for the Lionesses as they prepare to defend their SheBelieves Cup title.

Neville was speaking at a press conference where he announced the his squad for the tournament in March, which Mead was not included in.

Mead suffered an injury during Arsenal's match against Liverpool on Thursday.

Neville was at the Deva Stadium and was seen running down the tunnel after she was taken off the pitch.

He said: "It is a blow with Beth. I think Beth has been in the best form of her career this season. I knew as soon as she went down - the clash of knees - that something wasn't right."

Arsenal have not confirmed the nature of the injury or how long she will be out for.
