Lionesses post video messages to stay in touch with their fans

England footballers Lucy Bronze, Steph Houghton, Nikita Parris and Leah Williamson have posted video messages to keep fans' spirits up.

All women's top tier football has been suspended until April 30 and so the players wanted to reach out to fans.

Bronze said: "Football may not be on right now, but we wanted to let you know that we are here for you and we'll do our best to keep you informed, entertained and positive!

"Our love for the game will keep us together."

Nikita Parris added: "Because being a part of any team is important and one thing I've learnt is that standing together is better than standing alone."

England captain Steph Houghton said: "Hey everybody, I know it's a difficult time at the moment and there's a lot of uncertainty about the upcoming Lionesses tournaments, but the most important thing is you look after yourself.

"You look after your loved ones and you look after each other around you. Important to keep washing your hands and stick to all the guidelines and hopefully, we'll see you soon."

While Leah Williamson added: "So what do you want to see? Drop us a comment for any content that might make you feel good, might make you smile and might make you keep active. We will see what we can do."

The women's Euros that are still scheduled for next summer are expected to be postponed for a year as the men's event has been moved to the summer of 2021.
