Manchester City defender Megan Campbell says she's finding injury difficult to deal with

Manchester City and Republic of Ireland defender Megan Campbell has spoken about her battle to cope with injury.

Campbell suffered the tendon injury to her right foot in City's match against Tottenham in January.

She took to Twitter to share a photo of herself post-op which she captioned: "So, here it goes! Another road to recovery and one I never thought I'd have to experience again.

"It's a horrible feeling when my dream of playing professional football, which I have been incredibly lucky to experience so far, is one thing which has broken me down on a number of occasions.

"I've been here before and for those on the outside looking in, it's hard to comprehend how it feels. For me, it's hard to sit here and wonder why I find myself in this position again.

"It's hard to constantly get back up and keep bouncing back, but I will give my absolute all to be back out on the pitch soon."

City team mate and captain Steph Houghton tweeted Campbell writing: "We got ya my mate! Starts now... #VoiceNotePending"
