Manchester United and Arsenal score 18 between them as League Cup sees an avalanche of goals

Manchester United romped to an 11-1 victory over Championship side Leicester City in the League Cup.

The result is the second largest win in the tournament since it began in 2011, the biggest being Chelsea's 13-0 triumph over London Bees in 2014.

Forward Ella Toone scored five for Casey Stoney's side, with the Red Devils looking dominant from the start and leading 6-1 at half-time.

Manchester City won 4-1 at Everton. They led 1-0 at half-time and never let the lead slip under the watchful eye of England manager Phil Neville from the stands.

The two Manchester results mean they both sit at the top of group C, three points clear of Birmingham City.
