Manchester United's Leah Galton says 'it was her day' in win against Everton

Manchester United player Leah Galton has said 'it was her day' yesterday in their Women's Super League match against Everton.

Galton scored two goals in United's 3-2 victory and says she's 'really proud' of her performance.

"My aim every time I go on the pitch is to win my individual battle and I know if I do that I will have chances – I’ve taken them today and I’m really proud of that.

"I feel like as soon as I knew I had the beating of the defender, I just had to hit the target and I did twice – it was my day today."

The match was played at Everton's new ground, Walton Hall Park, and Galton added the rivalry between the two teams made United want to beat the Toffee's in their new home.

"We knew we had to win. We have a little rivalry with Everton anyway and have beaten them four times now and that feels great.

"It was their first game at home at their new place and we wanted to come here and beat them."

The result has left United in fourth position in the WSL.
