The Middlesex and Devon Football Association are investigating racial abuse accusations made by a Hounslow player.

Sue Kumaning was playing in Hounslow's victory 2-1 against Plymouth Argyle in the FA Women's National League South.

She tweeted earlier in the week: "Interesting.. I thought I was the ‘Hounslow number 8 who ruined the game’. 

"Unfortunately, I’m going to formally reject this POTM as I was racially abused by @EbonyDover from @ArgyleLFC - When did it become acceptable to call another ‘A Black P****’ .. asking for a mate. @FA"

Watford player Renee Hector shone a light on the case as she retweeted Kumaning's tweet and wrote: "Was hoping my case would be an isolated incident. Appalled to hear about this!! 

"Hoping this gets dealt with accordingly! Here for support if you’d like it Sue!"

Former Arsenal player Ian Wright also responded to Kumaning, writing: "I'm sorry to read this and that you both have gone through it. Glad you've spoken out we know it's not easy. I've followed if you need anything."

Hector experienced racist abuse from Sheffield United's Sophie Jones during a Championship match in 2019.

Jones quit football aged 27 after the incident and Hector experienced mental health issues as a result.
