Northern Ireland defender Demi Vance believes that the national squad can only go from 'strength to strength' ahead of the Pinatar Cup and Euro 2021 qualification. 

The 28 year-old signed with Scottish Women's Premier League side Rangers in December from Glentoran and has earned 53 caps for her national side.

Northern Ireland, managed  by Kenny Shiels, are set to travel to Spain for the Pinatar Cup where they will face Iceland, Ukraine and Scotland. 

Vance said: "From Kenny's point of view, the more players playing full-time, the better.

"As the seasons go on we are getting more and more players doing so and we've a lot of young players coming through who have so much potential.

"I think the national team can only go from strength to strength.

"I think you can see that since Kenny came in we have improved and his staff have been brilliant."

Their Euro 2021 qualifying match against Belarus takes place away in April. And the Pinatar Cup will act as preparation with the first fixture taking place this week. 

"Belarus is a massive game and we are all very excited for that, but the trip to Spain will be good because we will have three games.

"Ten days is a good length of camp for us to prepare for the Belarus game," she added. 

The side currently sit fourth in group C and will be looking for victory against Belarus in order to have a chance of making the finals.

Northern Ireland will kick off their Pinatar Cup campaign on March 4 against world No 18 Iceland.
