Portsmouth reach cup final without playing a single match

Portsmouth will play Southampton in the Hampshire Senior Cup final despite not playing a single play-off match.

Their quarter-final match was cancelled after their opponents Warsash Wasps withdrew, giving Pompey automatic qualification for the semi.

And then their last four clash with Winchester City was also cancelled after they also pulled out, meaning the south coast side have reached the final without playing a single minute.

It was revealed earlier this month that Portsmouth have had a series of games postponed due to the state of their pitch.

Portsmouth will now face bitter rivals Southampton in the final which is being held at Eastleigh’s Silverlake Stadium on March 26.

Jay Sadler's side have won the cup 11 times in a row and will be looking to add to their collection next month.
