Rangers' Megan Bell on how crazy it is bumping into 'hero' Steven Gerrard every day

Like most people, Rangers' new signing Megan Bell had a favourite player when she was growing up.

And now she's almost pinching herself as she's bumping into hers at work every day.

That player was Steven Gerrard, Liverpool captain and legend, and now manager of the men's team at Rangers.

And Bell says the fact that Rangers is a fully-integrated set-up means both sets of players are mixing all the time.

"Walking through the corridors the first team comes through, same corridors, same environment. Everyone says hi and even as far as Steven Gerrard, nobody will walk past you without saying 'hi' and shaking your hand," says Bell.

"It is a bit crazy because as a kid growing up [Gerrard] was my favourite football player. Now it's really hit home that I'm walking past him in the corridor," she told BBC Sport.

Bell added that she's hoping her time at Rangers will be the start of 'something special'. It certainly got off to a special start as she scored twice on her debut in the 3-0 win over Hearts.

"I'm still young, I'm learning from the best players and coaches. Who knows where it's going to take me, hopefully to bigger and better places and this is the start of something special."
