SWPL round-up: newly professional Rangers claim victory as Glasgow City sink in defeat

The Scottish Women's Premier League kicked off again this weekend and the four games were full of drama.

Here is all the news and action from the league.

Newly professional club Rangers kicked off with a 3-0 victory over Hearts. New signing Megan Bell scored twice on her Premier League debut and Kirsten Reilly added another to secure her side's convincing win.

Defending champions Glasgow City suffered a shock upset as Fran Alonso's Celtic beat them 2-1.

Celtic captin Kelly Clark scored the winner in the last minute of the match to secure the three points.

Elsewhere, Hibernian also claimed a dramatic win as Rachel Boyle scored a last-minute winner over Spartans.

Hibernian's head coach Dean Gibson said post-match: "If we keep our squad fit there's no reason why we can't compete at the top end."

Finally, Motherwell were victorious over Forfar Farmington. Katie Rice scored in the 85th minute to see her side win 1-0.
