Teenager Lauren Hemp keen to prove herself for England at SheBelieves Cup

England forward Lauren Hemp is hoping she can establish herself as a regular in Phil Neville's side during the SheBelieves Cup.

The 19-year-old watched the World Cup last summer from her sofa before picking up her first three caps for England in the latter half of last year.

Going from fan to player in the space of a year, Hemp knows she has to impress in the SheBelieves Cup to remain at the forefront of Neville's plans.

"Last summer, during the World Cup, I was sat at home watching," she told The Telegraph. "I went out to France to watch one of the games but the rest of the times I was sat in the comfort of my own home.

“I just want to just prove that I should be here. Obviously, admiring from a year ago to now, where I am - I just want to try and prove my place in the squad.

“I didn’t think it would happen so quickly, but it’s nice that it has done. I just take every game as it comes and by getting these England call-ups, it gives me that confidence.

England will play the US in their first match of the SheBelieves Cup tomorrow (Friday, 12am GMT).
