Women's Champions League: Arsenal earn solid win to progress into last 16

Arsenal earned a comfortable 2-0 win against Fiorentina to move into the last 16 of the Women's Champions League.

Having led 4-0 from the first leg, captain Kim Little scored the opening goal from the penalty spot, before Vivianne Miedema secured the 6-0 aggregate win in the second half.

The victory ensured both English sides in the Champions League made it through to the last 16 this season, after Manchester City's thrashing of Lugano the previous night.

Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain surprisingly drew 0-0 at home against the less fancied Sporting Braga. But they still went through thanks to their 7-0 win two weeks ago away from home.

Glasgow City took full advantage of their creditable 1-1 draw two weeks ago away from home, and soundly beat Russian side Chertanovo 4-1 in the second-leg, thanks to a double from Hayley Lauder.

Atlético Madrid, who defeated City in last season's round of 16, snatched a 1-1 draw late on to go through against Spartak Subotica 4-3 on aggregate.

The draw for the next phase of the competition will take place on Monday.
