Former Spurs goalkeeper Chloe Morgan is determined to 'make history’ following Crystal Palace signing

Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Chloe Morgan after her contract as the No 1 goalkeeper at Tottenham Hotspur expired.

The 30 year-old made 22 appearances for the north London club during the 2018/19 season as the side sealed promotion into the Women’s Super League.

But after her contract expired last month, it was unclear what Morgan’s next move was going to be after she dropped an ‘equality bombshell’ about her time at Spurs on social media earlier this week.

She said her ‘values had not always aligned with the club’.

The star said that she was ready for a ‘new chapter,’ and is looking at ways to ‘develop and progress the women’s game’.

On her signing, she said: “I’m so excited to be joining Crystal Palace Women. Palace have always been a team I have a lot of respect for and I’m looking forward to building on their past success and hopefully making history with the team going forward.”

Manager Dean Davenport added: “Chloe is a major coup for the club. In bringing her to Palace, we have signed someone with valuable experience who knows exactly what is required to get promoted from this league.”

Palace finished ninth in the Women’s Championship after the Football Association terminated the season.
