GB Paralympian Kadeena Cox reveals that training is tough during crisis

GB para-athlete Kadeena Cox has revealed that training has become very tough since the coronavirus outbreak.

The 29 year-old, who competes in T38 sprint events, suffers from multiple sclerosis, a condition which makes her more at risk of getting complications if she does get the virus.

And since the Government has told people to social distance, Cox has found training more difficult.

The two-time Paralympic champion and three-time World champion told BBC 5 Live: "The most important thing is that we're all healthy and we all get through it- not just physically, but mentally.

"Training is tough. I'm on my bike pretty often and I might go out on the road today, making sure I'm keeping my distance from other people.

"And for running, I'm managing to get out onto the football fields, just as long as I'm not near anyone else. And I've got my gloves on!

"If we get completely locked down, then it will be a challenge. But I’ve got my bike set up in my living room. I can do core stuff. I've got a few kettle bells. So you’ve just got to adapt to this situation and keep working."

Cox will be preparing ahead of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games which are still going ahead on August 25.
