Great Britain women’s hockey to play international FIH fixtures in October

Great Britain women’s hockey will start playing international fixtures in October, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has announced.

Only one-third of the games in the FIH Pro League were completed by early March before the coronavirus pandemic struck, but now a schedule has been released for the remaining fixtures.

The 2016 Rio Olympic champions still have games to play abroad in Belgium and the Netherlands in the autumn.

The home fixture later this year will be played behind-closed-doors against Germany, but in 2021 fans will be allowed to watch from the venues after 18-months of waiting.

The squad will also be playing India, Argentina and the USA in what will be used as preparation ahead of the postponed Olympic Games that summer.
