Cheltenham stages its own Oscar ceremony as 50/1 outsider is biggest shock of the Festival on Day 3

Day three at Cheltenham was dominated by an Oscar-winning performance.

The biggest shock of the Festival to date saw 50-1 shot Lisnagar Oscar storm to victory in the Stayers' Hurdle.

Adam Wedge rode his first Festival winner in a mouth-watering tricast, as Oscar was two lengths clear of Ronald Pump (20-1), with Bacardys (33-1) in third.

The surprise was the no-show from last year's winner Paisley Park, the 4-6 favourite who never threatened the bookies.

There was a treble for Gordon Elliott, moving him to the top of the trainers' standings with six wins for the week so far.

Samcro outwitted Melon and Faugheen in the Marsh Novices' Chase, before Sire du Berlais made it back-to-back wins in the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle.

It was a fourth win of the week for Barry Geraghty, who's in  pole position for leading jockey with just one day to go.

Elliott's hat-trick came in the final race of the day when Robert James steered Milan Native to victory.
