Star jockey Rachel Blackmore says no one in racing cares she's a woman - 'we're all just jockeys'

Cheltenham winning jockey Rachel Blackmore has said nobody within horse racing cares that she's a woman.

She won at the famous race course last year alongside Bryony Frost and Lizzie Kelly.

But she said while she understands why it's great to celebrate women in the sport, in the horse racing 'bubble' jockeys are all seen as equal.

"I get that it would be massive [for a female jockey] to win a Gold Cup or a Champion Hurdle, but, for me, my initial feeling wouldn't be 'ah this is so big for women in racing' - though I'm not oblivious to the fact that it would be a big deal.

"But within the small racing bubble I love that it's not making headlines anymore - after all, Henry [De Bromhead, trainer] doesn't care, the owners don't care and no one I deal with cares," she told the BBC.

Cheltenham begins on Tuesday and runs through to Friday.
