Marseille winger Florian Thauvin announces club's donations to frontline healthcare workers

Marseille winger Florian Thauvin has released a video message revealing that the club and its players are donating to help fund France's fight against the coronavirus.

France has the fourth highest coronavirus death toll in the world behind only Italy, Spain and the USA with 10, 869 fatalities and 112,950 testing positive.

The French government have taken stricter measures to prevent the spread of the disease by banning outdoor exercise and Thauvin insists this is the time to get behind the medical workers and help them in any way you can.

He said: "Olympique de Marseille and its players are mobilising to support all hospitals in the Marseille area and the heathcare workers on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic.

"You can also donate. If you want to get involved with us please visit the official OM website for all the most up to date information.

"These Olympiens are our most vital supporters right now and its our turn to support them.

"The greatest strength of a team is those who are on the frontline. We are thinking of you and we support you. See you soon."
