Matilda defender Jenna McCormick signs for Spanish side Real Betis

Matilda defender Jenna McCormick is heading to Europe after signing for Spanish side Real Betis on a two-year deal. 

The 25 year-old has come from W-league club Melbourne Victory where she made 12 appearances.

She has also spent time with Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar.

McCormick, who has earned four caps for her national side, said on her signing: “Very happy to finally announce my next move in my career with @realbetisfem. 

"Looking forward to getting started. Big thanks to my team behind the scenes.”

She becomes the second Australian in the Primera División along with midfielder Alex Chidiac who is currently at Atletico Madrid.  

At the end of the 2019/20 season Real Betis finished in twelfth.
