McCourt training in 'grandad's garage' as she continues to prepare for Harding clash despite uncertainty

Northern Irish MMA fighter Leah McCourt insists she will continue training for her fight with Janay Harding at Bellator London on May 16 until it is announced the event is not happening.

A host of sporting events around Europe have been postponed or cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Yet despite doubts that McCourt's fight will take place, the Liverpudlian is refusing to listen and is carrying on her preparation.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, she said: "I'm back into Rocky training. Obviously the gyms are closed but I have a boxing bag in my grandad's garage and I'm out doing sprints. I'm using the treadmill in my kitchen, I'm used to training in difficult circumstances being a single mum.

"Until I hear any different I'm training for that and looking forward to that event."

Although many combat sports events have been cancelled in March and April, UFC President Dana White has ensured his company's bout between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson will go ahead on April 18, even if it doesn't take place in America.
