German racing driver Sophia Florsch will compete as a part of an all-female team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in June.

The 19 year-old was involved in a horrific 170mph crash in November 2018 which she remarkably came away from with only a fractured spine.

But now the teenager is back in the hotseat and will line up alongside fellow female drivers Tatiana Calderon and Briton Katherine Legge.

Speaking on social media, Florsch said: "Yes! I am racing this high class superduper motorsport event. Ready to rumble girls."

The team that Florsch and co will be driving for is the Richard Mille's Racing Oreca outfit which will compete in the LMP2 category.

Florsch will make history in 2020 after she announced earlier this week that she is set to become the first woman to race in Formula 3 after signing a deal with Campos Racing for the new season.
