Loughborough Lightning netballer Natalie Panagarry out for months with injury

Loughborough Lightning's Natalie Panagarry has confirmed she will be out of the Vitality Netball Superleague season 'for months' after sustaining a foot fracture.

The 29 year-old suffered the injury during Lightning's opening round 72-58 defeat to Team Bath when she made an interception.

The England international, who signed for the side in 2015, told Sky Sports: "I'm really gutted. I was hoping it wouldn't be too long but it is a long-term injury. I'm still waiting for a few scans to come back but I think it will be a little while.

"Realistically I think it will be [months rather than weeks]. I've got a rest period now. I'm just going to rest my foot and let it settle for these next few weeks and then build up my strength from there. It's been confirmed as a fracture and ligament tear."

Lightning currently sit in seventh in the Superleague and will next face Saracens Mavericks in the fourth round on March 16.
