Surrey Storm have re-signed Emily Gulvin who will return for her third consecutive season ahead of their Superleague campaign.

The mid-courter was part of the Netball Performance League squad for Storm and won the title with them earlier this year.

The 22-year-old said: “I loved last season with (Director of Netball) Mikki Austin. I really get on well with the culture that she has developed and I love being a part of that.

“I really enjoy her coaching style too, so it was an easy decision to return. Having been here since the age of 14 or 15, and now studying at the University, Storm and Surrey Sports Park is definitely my home!”

Austin added: “She’s been a stalwart for years, going all the way through our NPL system and now into Superleague, and last year was a bit of a breakthrough year for her, in terms of really having a presence and being relied upon with responsibility across the court.”

Scottish netballer Lauren Tait has signed for Strathclyde Sirens in time for the 2020 season.

The 23-year-old was part of the side during their Superleague debut in 2016 and has decided to return.

She has represented Scotland for the Under 19 and 21 sides and was part of the squad during the recent World Cup.

Tait said: “I can’t wait to be a part of the 2020 Sirens squad with an amazing group of talented women that I can learn so much from.

“I’m excited to compete at the top level against some of the most experienced players in the world."

Sirens will take on bottom of the league London Pulse whilst Storm will face Celtic Dragons in the opening fixture of the Vitality Superleague in February at the Arena Birmingham.

In other news, Manchester Thunder have signed Takondwa Lwazi ahead of Britain’s Fast5 Championships next month.

She represented Malawi Queens at the Netball World Cup this summer and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Lwazi will be one of two all-stars players who has signed for Thunder exclusively for the Championships. She will be joined by Australian Erin Bell.

Thunder’s Director of Netball Karen Greig said: “I’m super excited to have her on board for Fast5. Having watched her play in recent years during the World Cup, Commonwealth Games and Fast5 World Series, I am sure she will be a great fit for us for the competition."

The tournament will see eight Superleague teams battle it out over 12-minute matches at the Copper Box Arena on October 12.
