Vitality Superleague Netball: Team Bath stun Wasps while Strathclyde Sirens blow away Surrey Storm

Team Bath produced a phenomenal second-half performance to shock Wasps and overturn a five-goal deficit in front of a huge home crowd, to continue their stellar start to the 2020 season.

Both teams headed into the game fresh from winning performances but it was the home side who emerged victorious, fending off the three-time finalists and taking the win 63-51.

Wasps dominated the first half and looked to be on course for another win until a stunning third quarter performance from the girls in blue and gold saw them enter the final period 44-42 up.

The Bath players continued their momentum and fought off the Wasps advances, scoring the final nine straight goals of the game and taking the win in front of the jubilant spectators.

Meanwhile, Strathclyde Sirens, in pursuit of their first win of the series, hosted Surrey Storm, emerging with a 61-53 victory.

Sirens put in an impressive, and much improved, shooting performance to hand Storm their second defeat in a week.

They now move to fifth in the standings and leave just Celtic Dragons and Severn Stars as the only teams to have not won a game thus far this season.

This Saturday sees Saracens Mavericks host Severn Stars and Manchester Thunder take on Loughborough Lightning as the action continues.
