Kenny and Archibald claim silver on final day at Europeans

Laura Kenny and Katie Archibald claimed silver in the Madison on the final day at the European Track Championships in Apeldoorn.

The pair finished with 31 points, agonisingly close to the the Danish duo of Amalie Dideriksen and Julie Leth who claimed the title with 33 points.

"I'm exhausted - we put everything into that," said Archibald after the women's madison.

"I've got stuff to work on personally and we've got ways we can improve as a team, so while I wish we had scored those two more points for gold, I still feel optimistic about future races."

Kenny and Archibald were both members of the women's quartet who took team pursuit gold on Thursday contributing to Great Britain finishing the Championships with nine medals; two gold, four silver, and three bronze
