Almost eight out of ten people in Japan don’t believe the Tokyo Olympics will go ahead next year, a new survey suggests.

The Japan News Network  found that 77% of those questioned about this summer’s postponed Games believe the event ‘cannot be held’.

The Games were postponed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, but as organisers start to plan for the rearranged event, questions are being raised about whether it can go ahead, and if it should be hosted in Japan.
