St Helen's halt Castleford's flawless season with 20-14 defeat

Castleford Tigers' historic undefeated season was dashed as St Helen's beat the side 20-14 in the Women's Super League.

The Tigers were winning at half-time by 10 points to four. However, three St Helen's tries in the second half ended Castleford's 13-match winning streak.

This was the last round of the regular season in the tournament before the top four sides in the league - Castleford Tigers, St Helen's, Leeds Rhino's and Wigan Warriors - compete in the knock-out semi finals. These take place on October 6.

Despite the defeat, The Tigers have still bagged the League Leaders Shield. They finished top of the table and just one point ahead of rivals St Helen's.Tigers and St Helen's could meet again in the WSL final on October 11.
