Harlequins play Leinster for the first women's club game at Twickenham

Harlequins women run out at Twickenham tomorrow for the first female club game at England’s home of rugby.

The London club will play Leinster, the first time the two sides have played each other.

Leinster are back-to-back champions in their domestic league and at their helm is former Quins player Sene Naoupu.

Naoupu said: "This is hugely historic. I’m excited for the province, for rugby in Ireland and also really excited for Harlequins, as a former player there myself.

"We’re incredibly proud to have the support from Adidas for this particular event. We’re excited and we’ll be training hard to make sure it’s a top game.”

Harlequins are currently top of the Premier 15s table and will be tough competition for the Irish team.

Quins captain Rachael Burford added: "We're always buzzing for the big games that are happening so to be part of the Big Game 12 we are really excited.

"It's a great opportunity to play against a strong Irish province."

The game will be a double header with the men's side who will play Leicester Tigers in their Premiership fixture.
