Harlequins run up a cricket score in rout of Richmond at The Stoop

Harlequins thrashed Richmond in their opening match of the Premier 15s. The game finished 101-0 and the score reflected Quins' domination throughout the match.

The first half saw Richmond put a few phases together but these crumbled under Quins' defence.

Quins had scored nine tries before half time with Ellie Green only missing one conversion throughout the half.

Quins didn't seem to have a weakness in the match.

Fullback Chloe Rollie's try was the highlight of the half, her superb quick feet seeing her beat two defenders to crash over the line.

As the second half got underway it was hard to see Richmond making any sort of dent in the score.

The opening minutes of the second half saw Quins resume scoring again and they continued to do so for fun until the end.

As the whistle blew on full time Quins had totted up over 100 points with 15 tries in a total demolition of Richmond.

Quins have put down a strong marker right at the start of the season and the rest of the table will certainly be sitting up and taking notice.

Victorious captain Abbie Scott said afterwards: "We have set our standard now. Everyone was on the same page and it was fantastic. Back to work for next week though.

"The coaches have built this squad and to have a team like that is fantastic."

Harlequins are next at The Stoop in two weeks against Gloucester-Hartpury. They travel to Worcester next weekend.

Richmond travel to Saracens to try and claim their first win of the tournament - the defending champions won their opening game against Bristol Bears.
