Premier 15s round-up: Gloucester-Hartpury beat Wasps in a hotly contested match

Gloucester-Hartpury have beaten Wasps in a narrow victory that sees the south west club cement their spot in the top four.

The cherry and whites struck first through Kelly Smith though the conversion was missed.

The crowd didn't have to wait long for Wasps to hit back as three minutes later they scored and missed the kick, so it was game on.

At the break, Gloucester had taken an 8-5 lead after a penalty kick. At 60 minutes Wasps had looked like they had stolen the match after scoring two tries to put them 17-8 up but Gloucester then ran in two more scores to win the match 22-17.

Elsewhere, Harlequins put the memory of their demolition by Saracens last weekend out of their minds to claim victory over Worcester Warriors.

Quins beat the Warriors 38-10 after scoring six tries. Worcester did fight back in the last ten minutes as they scored two in the closing chapter of the match but it wasn't enough to win.

Loughborough Lightning bolted to a win against Bristol Bears. They had a strong start racing to 38-0. The Bears couldn't cope with such a dominant display and so the northern club won 55-7.

There was another close clash in the battle of the north match between Firwood Waterloo and Darlington Mowden Park Sharks.

The two sides were locked at 10-10 at the break but the Sharks ran away with it in the second half to finish 27-10.

Finally, Saracens' trip to Richmond was postponed due to a water-logged pitch.
