Scottish rugby player who contracted coronavirus released from hospital

The Scottish women's rugby player who contracted coronavirus has been released from hospital.

It is thought the player picked up the virus when the squad were in Italy for their Six Nations match, which was called off.

Scotland only played two games of the international campaign due to the virus, losing to both Ireland and England.

Scotland rugby released a statement that said: "Scottish rugby is pleased to confirm the Scotland women player who contracted coronavirus has now been released from hospital.

"[They] no longer need to self-isolate and is feeling back to normal. The seven Scotland women players and staff self-isolating have also been cleared to resume daily life."

The games that were postponed are thought to be rescheduled for October though it has not been confirmed.
